We’d heard about the tulips at Table Cape being in bloom for the spring. Despite being born in Holland, I have never seen tulips. Not en masse anyway. So we drive over from Cradle Mountain to see this spectacularly colourful display.
It’s a little early in the season for the tulips to be covering the cape but a few rows of flowers and showing their colours. It’s absolutely spectacular. Pinks, yellows, oranges, reds, purples and whites contrast the red brown earth. Bees hum industriously, covered in pollen. It’s a glorious sight.
Table Cape itself is also pretty with spectacular views of the northern Tasmania coastline. We’re fortunate to be here on a clear day and can see for miles. It’s not always like this but the wild and woolly weather would probably give the cape a different atmosphere.
