Maps for the Lycian Way have arrived

I am going to Turkey from mid September to hike the 540km Lycian Way. It’s now official because I have the maps. I had booked flights with the intention of cycle touring Turkey but I changed my mind to hike. My parents will join me for a week of the adventure, which will be a real treat.

But first … Paul and I leave for Indonesia on Wednesday. I can’t wait for either adventure.

  1. It sounds like a great hike 🙂
I love how walking allows you to discover a place like no one form of travel – including cycle touring. You can really go anywhere.

    Enjoy the trip 🙂

    • It is a unique way of travel isn’t it. I find it quite grounding in a way that cycling, motor cycling and driving can’t be. Every day you just put one foot in front of the other. You have a rough idea where you are headed and there’s little flexibility to dither or stray along the way (or at least that’s the case when you have a return flight home to meet). And yes, you can go anywhere because you don’t need much in the way of specialist kit. I am excited about the Lycian Way hike. It will be my longest through-hike (my longest so far is 260km)
